Hi, my name is Ava!
Iβm a senior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in Culture and Politics. I started sharing my Georgetown Story with you all when I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain for the Spring 2015 semester and I look forward to continuing to share my experience with all of you as I embark on my senior year on the Hilltop. Itβs bittersweet that itβs the last year but I will be savoring every single moment here. Click here to find out more about me!
Meet Ava
My Georgetown experience has been incredible, diverse and always changing. I've made some of the best friendships, I've taken fascinating classes, interacted with some of the smartest and kindest professors, studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, founded a women's leadership organization, interned at my dream company, and have met some awesome alums ππ₯πππ
I'm from Milwaukee, WI but Georgetown/Washington, D.C has quickly become my second home. I've also been able to live in Madrid, Spain for study abroad and New York & San Francisco for internships.
They say you can tell a lot about a person from what's in their bag!
Tennis Racquet: I'm taking tennis class at Georgetown as a senior because I wanted to try out a new sport
Museum Ticket Stub: Art is an important part of my life. Art prompts conversation and I love that. You can often find me in one of many DC museums
Tech Podcast: One of my daily rituals and pleasures is listening to my favorite tech podcast so I can catch up on all things happening in Silicon Valley
Journal: Self-reflection is very important to me. I've been journaling since I was 7 years old and it helps me remain self-aware and balanced
Oscar Wilde Book: Oscar Wilde is a figure I really admire for his radicalism and literary contributions. The Picture Of Dorian Gray is my favorite book of his and my favorite quote from him is: "Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught."
Cup Of Coffee: I can't go a day with out coffee, no really. It's my simple pleasure and morning ritual. I frequent DC coffee shops quite a bit
Glasses: Unfortunately, I can't see much without them but I've grown to really like them since they spend almost all waking hours on my face
